Cosy Corner provides a friendly, caring, and welcoming environment where children feel safe and secure. We try hard to provide a home from home environment to create an atmosphere where children will thrive and by working in partnership with parents/carers to ensure we can meet the individual needs of the individual child. We offer an environment that is stimulating, safe, and structured so the children are encouraged to explore, investigate, discover and challenge themselves and thrive through play.

The Early Years Foundation Stage
Learning Through Play.
The Early Years Foundation Stage is a play based framework that we use as a tool to ensure that children from birth to five years are developing and learning to their full potential. We incorporate it into our daily activities to ensure that children develop well are kept healthy and safe.
We plan and provide a range of play activities , which help your child to make progress in each of the seven areas of learning and development.
Whilst your child is here with us at Cosy Corner Day Nursery we use their Learning Journal to record developments and achievements made so that we can monitor their progress.
Your child will have a key person within each room who will observe your child to assess how they are learning and developing. They will use this information, along with evidence from photographs and work, to document your child’s progress and where this may lead them.

Outdoor Area
Here at Cosy Corner we have a fantastic and secure outdoor area with different spaces to explore and learn in. We enjoy the large outdoor space, hard play area, sensory garden and the fantastic grassed area. We also have planting troughs for the children, a mud kitchen, a large sand pit, sound wall, large wooden blocks and much more. Children have access to the outside classroom area at least twice a day, come rain or shine!
Staff Team
We are delighted that several team members have been at Cosy Corner for many years, some with 20+ years’ service. All our team members have a passion for childcare, and they are approachable and friendly. The team are all Enhanced DBS checked, and are well trained. Our staff team has a range of childcare qualifications from Level 2 to Qualified Teacher Status, which has been achieved by our owner and one team member. All team members are up-to-date with their Safeguarding and First Aid training and have regular updates at staff meetings.
Key Carers
Each child is assigned a key carer, giving Parents and Carers confidence that even though we have a team of staff, there is an individual responsible for monitoring the development of your child. Key carers carefully observe their key children to fully understand what they enjoy doing, and how we can further develop their learning using their personal interests.
Promoting a healthy lifestyle
We offer a 4 week seasonal menu rotation.
We promote a healthy lifestyle at Cosy Corner and a wide range of nutritious meals are prepared and cooked by our onsite cook for all our children whether you attend full day or half day. Any special dietary requirements listed within your enrolment pack are catered for.
Breakfast, Mid-morning snack, Lunch and afternoon high tea, and water and Milk are all provided as part of your daily rate. The nursery has a commitment to providing a healthy balanced diet for our children and we endeavour to deliver the five portions of fruit and vegetables recommended each day. This is achieved by the inclusion of plenty of vegetables and fruit combined with home cooked food. We believe that establishing healthy eating habits in early life is essential and our menus are regularly reviewed to ensure that this is being achieved.
We are a nut free nursery. Some products may contain traces of nuts but this might not be overtly listed on the ingredients or may be part of an ingredient not necessarily broken down further. If in doubt please let us have a definite list of those products of which you are aware might prove troublesome to your child.
All children sit together at meal times promoting social development, good eating habits and table manners. Weekly menus will be displayed on the notice boards.
